hi! I hope you miss me I'm back.
I'm going to be doing a blog post at least twice a month now so I hope you check back.
A lot's happened since I've posted!
We moved to West Vancouver from downtown Vancouver.
Even though it's only one bridge away it's like a different world over here.
I'm very inspired being two blocks from the beach. And I've already found great cafes to edit photos in!
In other news I've switched camera systems I still have my Sony full frame system but I've been using the Fujifilm gfx system which is a medium format camera system rendering 102 megapixel images.
This is important because I also bought a printer and I'm now printing a lot of my work...
My hope this year is to put out two or three photography books some of portraits some of landscapes and some travel stuff.
So I hope you'll keep an eye out.
It's interesting switching to a different camera system especially Fujifilm. The colors straight out of the Fujifilm medium format camera are incredible!
It's inspired me in so many different ways.
First and most noticeably I've slowed down a lot I'm more mindful and conscious before I press the shutter release not only because the images are so big I don't have the hard drive space! but also the experience of the fujifilm makes me take my time more.
The aspect ratio 4x5 is unique as well all of a sudden I find myself not turning my camera sideways anymore.
I've been spending a lot of time in the studio and now excited to get back outside and shoot.
We just had a couple of days of sun amidst a bunch of rain and previously some snow... In the small pockets of sun I've ran down and met models to test out my new camera.
Here's a shot of a wonderful person named Pani I shot on the gfx100s and gfx 80 mm F 1.7 lens.

I also connected with model Val, we got a coffee and went and found a nice overcast Ally to shoot this black and white portrait with heavy grain.
Take it on the GFS 100s and 80 mm F 1.7

And of course the gfx in the studio is also a unique and different experience.
Just yesterday I was walking along the seawall and came across this beautiful pink building.
Thankfully it was sunny out and I never leave home without my camera.

So from portraits to black and white and architecture or landscape this new gfx100s has me completely in love.
The question is will the relationship last?
Thanks for reading and have a fantastic day!!
Andrew
